Goblin Television Appearances

December 3, 2009 Media No Comments

This may be old news to some Goblin fans but it never occurred to some of us here to do a YouTube search on Goblin to see what kind of television appearances they made to promote the work they did for Argento and others. And what a treasure trove of retro television this clip is! Cheesy hair, goofy stage presentations (love the red boots, lads) and the Jimmy Page double neck guitar all prog bands were required by law to have in at least one stage of their career arc. Behold Goblin, doing VERY well on live (and pre-recorded) television in this excellent YouTube clip. Sadly the commentary at the end is in untranslated Italian, but 99% of this is music, so no bother.

We’re loving this vid and have already watched it three times…you’ll be an addict, too.

I am based in Chicago but willing to travel. Call or send an e-mail to jwallace (at) turntabling (dot) net.

DJ Paisley Babylon sets aren't typical DJ gigs and I'm very selective about the events I do.Please listen to the mixes first before deciding to book me. If my sounds are right for your event, I'm very happy to work with you.

Blog to Watch: Spy Bop Royale

August 9, 2010

Spy Bop Royale isn’t really a blog per se–it doesn’t have daily posts, but the owner, known only as The Mastermind, promises occasional updates when he finds new material. It’s a bummer that this site isn’t a more regular concern, but for the beginning collector (OK, let’s be honest and call them “obsessives”) of 60s [...]

Border Radio Original Soundtrack Vinyl LP

June 6, 2010

Border Radio was a great, low-budget indie film directed by Kurt Voss, Dean Lent, and Allison Anders over a period of four years in Southern California. It stars a who’s who of Cali punk luminaries including Dave Alvin, Chris D. and John Doe in a standout role as a grungy bass player in exile from [...]

Deep Throat Soundtrack LP

May 19, 2010

Controversy, exploitation, and a soundtrack that won’t quit! Deep Throat was literally the hottest thing in America back in the 70s when it came out. In the age of Internet porn it is difficult to imagine why this particular movie was so groundbreaking, but imagine living in a world where the only people who see [...]

Tromeo and Juliet Picture Disc Soundtrack

May 19, 2010

Bucky Shakespeare is rolling over in his grave! He’s been spinning ever since Tromeo and Juliet hit the silver screen, the perfect antidote to that overblown, craptacular modernized version of this tired old story engulfed pop culture for a minute. People who barfed at the idea of a gun-toting romeo drooling on about his “swords” [...]
