Jesse Franco Bloody Moon

I have NOT seen Jesse Franco’s Bloody Moon yet. But I did pick up a soundtrack compilation featuring the ridiculously fun Bloody Moon disco soundtrack sounds, I simply HAVE to see it now. It’s a MUST. A slasher movie with a disco soundtrack? Oh HELL yes.

Any soundtrack music featuring a singer enthusiastically dribbling on about disco nights and taking a shower, set to a psuedo-Zappaesque rhythmn section circa Joe’s Garage, is a total winner.

This is an exceptionally stinky cheese in all the best ways. Wait til you hear the farty synth noises on Die Sage des Todes Suite…sheer cornball delirium I couldn’t possibly live without.

The soundtrack CD I picked up is called The Erotic And Painful Obsessions Of Jess Franco, and it’s a very worthy investment, from the fake Giorgio Moroder sounds of Disko Alternativ to Lolita und der Teddybar you can’t go wrong. This CD features three of Franco’s film soundtracks; Lolita Am Scheideweg also known as Eugenie, plus you get the Bloody Moon OST and Die Nackten SuperHexen Vom Rio Amore, AKA Linda.

But damn if I don’t love that Bloody Moon OST the best. Behold.
