Skullcandy Lowrider Silver and Red Headphones

skullcandy lowrider headphones silver and redThis is not a gear review, because frankly we don’t own a pair of these Skullcandy lowrider-style headphones. But the color scheme and design sure is eye-catching and it’s tempting to purchase a pair based on looks alone. A few reviewers mention that these are great for drum-n-bass sounds, which sounds fine to us. If you’re interested purely in style over function, these are pretty sweet. But how do they stand up to the test of the tunes? If you own a pair, we’d love to know–help us decide whether to buy or flee? Drop us a comment, eh? They sure are pretty though.

Round the Turntabling DJ booth or vendor table at the trade shows or conventions you’ll spot Sony headphones and Sennheiser…but when you don’t feel like carting around your expensive pair for quick trips or even short sets on a friend’s watch, what do YOU use?

I bought these because they looked awesome! And my sony ones of 3 years broke.) Color and look as you said! But as soon as I took them out of the package I realized they are made of cheap plastic look like they could easily be broken. Then I plugged them into my ipod and Im like 100 percent electronic lover. And the volume on these things are really low (riding) tee hee. So after a few days use I wanted to return them but couldn’t. A waste of 30 bucks i’d say. but they do still look sweet! Sitting on my desk unused.

So I did the old duckt tape and paperclip repair on my old ones and there great.!

    So looks over sound?
    NAY!

    Guido-

Damn…I’m sticking with Sony then–and THANK YOU for the feedback. Funny–I had a pair of Sonys that also broke right about the three year point. What gives, planned obsolescence? I love Sennheisers the best but haven’t owned a pair in years. If we could combine the quality of Sony with the look of Skullcandy, we’d have something….
