Turntabling At Horror Society Film Festival October 23 & 24

October 21, 2010 Events No Comments

Join me at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago for a jammin’ two-day film festival sponsored by the Chicago Horror Society this Saturday and Sunday October 23 and 24 2010.

Turntabling will have a table chock full of rare vinyl finds including the now totally out of print Tenebre soundtrack LP, plus plenty of other Goblin on LP and CD, plus Morricone, Public Image Limited, and hundreds more vinyl and CD titles.

Sunday at 2PM, Turntabling house band/multimedia art terrorism project Paisley Babylon performs a set to kick off the second day of the festival, complete with a lovely little video mashup called Satan’s Greatest Hits which may even be available for sale at the Turntabling table after the performance.

The two-day festival is THE Horror Society event of the year, you do NOT want to miss this one as it is packed full of great movies from here and abroad. Mitch, Jessica and company have really pulled out all the stops this time and you will NOT walk away from this show disappointed.

Zombie Disco 2 With DJ Paisley Babylon

July 24, 2010 DJ mix, Events No Comments

Tonight, Saturday July 24 at 9PM I’ll be spinning as DJ Paisley Babylon at Chicago’s excellent Lucky Number Grill. It’s Zombie Disco Night, an event put on by the Chicago Horror Society. Last year’s Zombie Disco was something to behold and this one should be even more fantastic. There will be zombie makeup artists on site to bring out the corpse in you, plus some fun events, contests and all the retro disco insanity you can stand. Bring a bag of disco biscuits and get your groove on!

If you can’t make it to this for some sick reason, I’ll be posting a set list mix later in the week. Stay tuned. DJ Paisley Babylon rides again, terrorizing Chi-town from behind the decks.

Did I mention there are new copies of the Escape From New York soundtrack vinyl and Tenebre in stock? They’ll be at the show…the movie line up is great and there are plenty of special guests including Night of the Demons director Kevin Tenney. The door is at 4PM–get there early, stay late.

Turntabling is an avid supporter of the Chicago Horror Society–we love what they’re doing to gather the fans under one roof. Come out and support Turntabling and the Horror Society this Saturday. Zombie Outbreak Aftermath

November 15, 2009 Turntabling Records No Comments

return of the living deadIf you weren’t able to make it out to Zombie Outbreak at the Portage in Chicago, you missed a great night out. Thanks to the army of people who stopped by the Turntabling setup and introduced themselves. We quickly ran out of the limited-edition promo disc, but we’re pressing another run of them for our next show in Cincinnati next weekend, so stay tuned.

If you couldn’t make it out last night you missed Pathogen, the zombie movie made by a 12-year old girl (plus a documentary on her called Zombie Girl). Then there was Colin, the made-for$70 zombie movie that made a  splash a few months back. The highlight of the evening was the 35MM screening of Return of the Living Dead, which is an all-time favorite here at Turntabling. It’s a lot of fun and I’m grateful it was the last show of the night since I actually got to SEE it after tearing down the booth.

Next up it’s HorrorHound in Cincinnati, we’ll have details on that one shortly. We’ll be there from Friday to Sunday and look forward to meeting more Turntabling lovers there…
