Turntabling At Horror Society Film Festival October 23 & 24

Join me at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago for a jammin’ two-day film festival sponsored by the Chicago Horror Society this Saturday and Sunday October 23 and 24 2010.

Turntabling will have a table chock full of rare vinyl finds including the now totally out of print Tenebre soundtrack LP, plus plenty of other Goblin on LP and CD, plus Morricone, Public Image Limited, and hundreds more vinyl and CD titles.

Sunday at 2PM, Turntabling house band/multimedia art terrorism project Paisley Babylon performs a set to kick off the second day of the festival, complete with a lovely little video mashup called Satan’s Greatest Hits which may even be available for sale at the Turntabling table after the performance.

The two-day festival is THE Horror Society event of the year, you do NOT want to miss this one as it is packed full of great movies from here and abroad. Mitch, Jessica and company have really pulled out all the stops this time and you will NOT walk away from this show disappointed.

New Titles Coming Soon to Turntabling: Bruno Nicolai Collection

Case of the Bloody Iris Bruno Nicolai
I’m very excited to announce a limited collection of Bruno Nicolai titles for sale at Turntabling including the original soundtracks for Case of the Bloody Iris, also known as Perché quelle strane gocce di sangue sul corpo di Jennifer? That one was sold as part of the infamous Anchor Bay Giallo Collection boxed set several years ago.

We’ll also be stocking the Bruno Nicolai soundtrack for The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, AKA La Notte che Evelyn Usci Dalla Tomba, and also the soundtrack Nicolai did for Nightmares Come At Night.

If that weren’t enough, we will also be bringing you another soundtrack from the Anchor Bay Giallo Collection, Ennio Morricone’s score for Short Night of Glass Dolls, one of the best giallos ever, for my money. Keep watching the site, you’ll see these awesome soundtrack CDs coming quite soon. Sadly they are NOT available on vinyl, but they are DEFINITELY worth the investment.

I even have another little surprise in store…an experiment that could lead to a whole new offering here. But only if there’s enough interest. Should Turntabling branch out and start selling DVDs along with the soundtracks? Stay tuned.

Goblin Television Appearances

This may be old news to some Goblin fans but it never occurred to some of us here to do a YouTube search on Goblin to see what kind of television appearances they made to promote the work they did for Argento and others. And what a treasure trove of retro television this clip is! Cheesy hair, goofy stage presentations (love the red boots, lads) and the Jimmy Page double neck guitar all prog bands were required by law to have in at least one stage of their career arc.
