Trailer For What Have You Done To Solange?

Giallo soundtracks What Have You Done To SolangeWe recently added the soundtrack vinyl for What Have You Done To Solange? to the Turntabling inventory, and if that fact alone doesn’t make you want to take a look, this trailer for the film might just do the trick:

Cosa avete fatto a Solange? is a classic of the era, and with a far more gritty plot than some of its peers. If you’re intrigued now, have a look at the vinyl record in the Turntabling shop.

Bruno Nicolai Marquis De Sade Vinyl LP

Bruno Nicolai and Jess Franco? Yes indeed! De Sade was seemingly a favorite topic of Franco’s, he kept coming back to the famous old pervert again and again, if not directly, certainly in the concepts and themes of those naughty old stories. Bondage, S&M, blood, you name it…Franco and De Sade go together like coffee and cream.

The soundtrack for this film is just what you’d expect from Nicolai, who composed and conducted with Morricone, which is likely why you hear some textures and techniques in common with good ol’ Ennio’s work.

Turntabling has a copy for sale of this delicious vinyl pairing of two Maestros working together back in 1969…this is the Finders Keepers edition with the purple cover. If you love the sexy sounds of Jess Franco movies and have a thing for classic Italian soundtrack composers like Bruno Nicolai, have a listen to this record…(sample below) and you’ll wonder why you haven’t added this to your collection yet.

Bruno Nicolai Marquis De Sade 70 vinylYou can buy this vinyl edition of Marquis De Sade from the Turntabling Discogs shop while supplies last. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good! Check out the track from this LP below, “Drug Party”, which is pretty awesome.

While Supplies Last: Death Waltz Record Store Day Edition of EMANUELLE PERCHE’ VIOLENZA ALLE DONNE

Death Waltz Records Violation of EmanuelleYes, the Turntabling shop has this sought-after Record Store Day one-off pressing of EMANUELLE PERCHE’ VIOLENZA ALLE DONNE by Nico Fidenco reissued by Death Waltz Records, which may or may not contain a Golden Ticket promo contest insert.

This is available on a first-come, first served basis while supplies last. When they’re gone, they’re GONE!!! Rare and groovy, this soundtrack is probably one of Nico Fidenco’s finest moments. Never mind whether the film was your cup of tea or not, the MUSIC…the music….

Rare CDs Are Fun To Collect, Too!

Man From Deep River Soundtrack CD

Sometimes you can’t find this stuff on vinyl but there are TONS of limited edition releases out there of soundtracks like this….it takes some dedicated digging to turn them up from time to time, but there are lots of no-more-than-1000-made reissues of soundtracks like these thanks to awesome labels like Beat, Cinevox, Easy Tempo and much more…

And yes, Turntabling DOES sell rare, hard-to-find, weird, and just plain cool soundtracks on CD too. We’re at http://www.discogs.com/seller/Turntabling on Discogs.com

Riz Ortolani Farewell

We here at Turntabling are sad to hear of the passing of Riz Ortolani. The scope of his soundtrack work is enormous. His mark on the world of pop culture soundtracks continues into the present day. Many comments on social media thank the 2011 film ‘Drive’ for the composer’s introduction. Also, Quentin Tarantino has used the composer’s work in more than one film because he enjoys it so much. For that we’re glad.

One of our favorite soundtrack’s of Mr. Ortolani is the 1969 thriller Una sull’altra a.k.a. Perversion Story. The swinging grooves of this one fit the images presented of wild San Francisco nightlife like a glove. Listening to the menu screen of the DVD several times before playing the movie is actually a joy. The music is that wonderful.

Of course, there’s not enough room to completely cover the great soundtracks that this master has contributed to. Turntabling has several titles  on Discogs.  Riz Ortolani’s soundtracks for sale at the moment are first come, first served. We’ll keep our eyes out for more, as we know he has plenty of fans.  For that, we’re glad, they are well deserved.

Commedia Sexy All’Italiana – Italian Sex Comedy Soundtrack CD (NSFW)

Roberto Pregadio, one of the great composers from the Kriminal soundtrack adds an incredible  music for the soundtrack to the movie Il Medico…La Studentessa.

A man and a woman look surprised by circumstances around them. The fellow is adjusting some of his clothing. The woman is topless and the rest of her garments are sheer.

As a CD with artwork that’s not safe for most workplaces, Commedia Sexy All’Italiana has some lovely soundtrack selections that shouldn’t be overlooked. There are twenty tracks from the late ’60s and early ’70s. It also has a booklet showing scenes and posters from the original movies.

In the ’70s film makers worldwide turned to sex to sell movie tickets. The Italian film producers employed the same composers who added jazzy excitement to their western and horror genres to score the comedies where the women shed their clothing and the men became hot and bothered.

This collection shows that the music added to the comedies whimsy, passion and naughtiness. The tracks stand out with a sexiness all their own. Commedia Sexy All’Italiana might not be safe to play at work, without the headphones and a cover for the lady on the case. These tracks would be great for your collection of inventive film soundtracks and additional sexy swing to any party or dance floor.

Turntabling has a CD copy of Commedia Sexy All’Italiana for sale at our Discogs store. It is, of course first come, first served.

New Vinyl LPs at Turntabling

Turntabling has some awesome new additions for sale including a metric TON of Italian soundtracks on vinyl, plus some collections of soundtrack sounds like the Piomobo Rovente LP collection pictured here.

Piomobo Rovente, released on Plastic Records, is crammed full of essential sounds by Francesco de Masi, Pulsar, and Guido E Maurizio De Angelis. This vinyl record has names longtime Italian soundtrack lovers will be pleased with–newcomers to this genre should definitely get to know the composers represented on this record. See below for some YouTube clips from this LP you won’t want to miss.

Piomobo Rovente has cuts from a variety of Italian police thrillers including Napoli Spara, two from La Polizia Incrimina, La Legge Assolve, three from Roma Violenta, quite a few from La Macchina Della Violenza, and one track each from Milano Violenta, Roma A Mano Armata, and La Poliziotta Fa Carriera.

You can buy Piomobo Rovente from Turntabling--first come, first served!

Don’t miss it, it likely won’t be around long. Plastic Records is another one of those Italian labels we like to grab whenever we can find their material. They’re just as awesome as Right Tempo/Easy Tempo, Dagored and Cinevox as far as Turntabling is concerned.

This is just one of the rare, cool, hard-to-find, and just plain awesome records we’ve found while scouring the earth for the right kinds of records. Other recent additions for sale include the awesome reissue of Marshall McLuhan’s The Medium is the Massage LP by Five Day Weekend Records.

Five Day Weekend did us ALL a favor by reissuing this LP in all its dated, 60s glory. Make no mistake, “dated” in this context is TOTALLY awesome. There’s nothing like some of these crazy 60s-era sonic experiments, and I highly recommend picking this up if you’re a fan of stuff like the Modcinema.com DVDs Colorspace Volume One, Colorshopping, etc.

Released in 1968, you can get a fascinating look at what media theorists and manipulators were thinking about mass media way back then. Compare it to today’s musings about social media, Google, and other issues and you’ll draw some very interesting parallels.

This was quite a rarity in its original form–it did make it to CD but the real way to experience this is on that turntable rotating at 33 1/3 per minute. You can buy The Medium Is the Massage by Marshall McLuhan on a first-come, first served basis at Turntabling. When it’s gone…

Also just in, the Ennio Morricone soundtrack LP for Le Foto Proibite Di Una Signora Per Bene (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) issued on Dagored, plus a CD copy of the Nico Fidenco soundtrack for Blue Jeans.

Turntabling has gotten a fair amount of CDs in stock over the last few weeks–are you interested in Italian soundtrack music on CD? Eurohorror? Crime and thriller soundtrack sounds? If so, you’ll want to check out the compilation CD Roma Violenta (La Cinevox Si Incazza) or Tecnica Di Un Omicidio / Quella Carogna Dell’Ispettore Sterling (Colonne Sonore Originali / Edizione Speciale) by Robby Poitevin.

There’s more–SO much more–at the Turntabling Discogs shop on vinyl and on compact discs.

Have a look and don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions. We’re happy to help! Also, don’t forget that Turntabling buys record collections–if you want to sell us yours, get in touch with us via e-mail: jwallace242 at gmail. We buy soundtracks, horror film-related vinyl, electronic music, goth and industrial sounds, post-punk and punk. We DO NOT BUY show tunes, Broadway, classical, hip hop made after 1992, 80s and 90s metal or country.

We will travel to review collections under the right circumstances–we DO buy ENTIRE COLLECTIONS when warranted, but we are also willing to make smaller offers on portions of a collection if you prefer.

Get in touch to learn more about our buying policies and current needs and thank you very much for your interest.

New Vinyl Arrivals at Turntabling: Morricone, Joy Division, Goblin

There is a TON of great new vinyl for sale on the Turntabling Discogs page. Italian soundtrack fans will love the addition of My Delicious Spaghetti Western on the legendary Dagored label, and it’s been a great long while since I had a copy of Ennio Morricone’s La Donna Invisible to offer–it’s one of my favorite soundtracks from the era. I am always on the lookout for more excellent titles from Italy from the giallo, horror, sci-fi and thriller genres. You can never have too many Goblin albums, and Morricone’s work from the 60s and 70s never gets dull.

Turntabling sells vinyl from a variety of genres including soundtracks, goth/industrial, 80s new wave and punk, and just plain rare/obscure titles. I scour the earth to find these, and several times a year embark on cross-country trips to buy entire collections, find weird and outrageous vinyl, and meet my fellow vinyl junkies.

If you have a collection to sell, I’d be very happy to discuss it–but please know that I buy in the genres that I sell here. Country, show tunes, classic rock, and other genres unrelated to what I sell on Turntabling are of little interest. The ONLY exception to that rule is when weird or unsual albums are involved.

Here is a VERY SMALL selection of what I currently have for sale on Discogs. You can always send me an e-mail for a list of my latest arrivals–it’s an auto-responder that has my very latest items listed. Just send an email to: turntabling23@gmail.com. This list is updated whenever I get new arrivals–want the latest? Just send another email to that address and you’ll have the latest updated version.

Thanks very much for checking out Turntabling! Your interest is what keeps the site going year after year.
