Schulmadchen Report Soundtrack LP: Gert Wilden

The sexy soundtracks of Eurotrash softcore sleaze movies from the 60s and 70s cannot be beat, and Schulmadchen Report is no exception. The SchoolGirl Report movies were made in Europe, exported to the American grindhouse circuit, and are now on DVD from Synapse films and Impulse Pictures. This soundtrack album features music from the first Schulmadchen Report plus a few other sexy German romps including Die dessierte Frau.

The movies themselves weren’t without controversey. According to one source, “In the United States, the films were released in grindhouses and drive-ins, and the names of the films were changed to conform to American standards. Because the films focused on young girls who may have been under legal age in this country, the Schoolgirl Report series was eventually suppressed.”

Whether or not that’s true, we don’t know–what we DO know is this is one hell of a soundtrack LP. It was released by Crippled Dick Hot Wax and features a gatefold sleeve with liner notes from Video Watchdog’s Tim Lucas, who always has plenty of insightful things to say–the liner notes alone are pretty amazing. On Gert Wilden’s music he says, “Wilden’s wholesome brand of psychedelia  made sexual activity seem adventurous and healthy…”

That observation alone should make curious soundtrack junkies reach for the record.

Check out the music on the fan-made video below–the song is the opening track on the album. We were completely sold on this from the second we heard it.

Profondo Rosso Soundtrack LP by Goblin PRE-ORDER NOW

deep red profondo rosso goblin LP

Dario Argento’s Profondo Rosso, released in the USA as Deep Red (and sometimes Deep Red Hatchet Murders) is one Argento’s finest contributions to the genre. David Hemmings is fantastic as the musician looking for clues to a murder he witnesses outside an apartment. What he finds is…well, you have to see the movie. Suffice it to say any new fan of Italian horror should fall in love with this one, and old fans already know how well done the movie is in spite of a few flaws along the way…but that’s Italian cinema for you–take the good with the bad.

The soundtrack by Goblin is full of great prog flourishes and is totally unlike the band’s work on Suspiria or Tenebre…Goblin shows tremendous versatility between these three soundtracks, but of the three Deep Red is probably their most musically accomplished in terms of traditional arrangements.

This is a brand new, sealed vinyl LP on sale at Turntabling for $23 plus shipping. The album is available for PRE ORDERS ONLY and ships within the USA only at present. Send your pre-order with the subject line DEEP RED LP PRE-ORDER to orders@turntabling.net complete with your paypal email addy. Harold and Maude Original Soundtrack on Vinyl

harold-and-maude

Aquarium Drunkard is raving about this. While Cat Stevens is more odious because of his “Kill Rushdie” utterances as an Islamic militant back in the late 80s (Is he still one? Who knows?) the vinyl in question is highly prized in some circles. Aquarium Drunkard reports the Cameron Crowe is responsible for this finally seeing the light of day…if you loved the movie, this might be worth a look in. It’s a limited edition–2500 copies according to the blog post. Collectors take note!

We found a listing for the Harold and Maude soundtrack LP on Amazon for a whopping $299…claiming to be an original, factory sealed pressing on blue vinyl. Buyer…beware? We don’t vouch for the veracity of this–but it IS available for sale. One copy only!
