It’s true that we give Morricone, Piero Umiliani, Lalo Schifrin and other composers a lot of love here at Turntabling. It’s also true that Pino Donaggio hasn’t really gotten his due in these pages, something we hope to remedy with The Howling soundtrack. There are some definite Italo-sentimentale moments on this one, but also the requisite creepy strings and a few Goblin-esque moments (Donaggio would probably hate us for saying that, but we call ’em like we hear ’em.).
