This album is truly awesome. It’s a collection of music appropriate for the sorts of parties referenced in the title–oh, yes.. Bob Crewe, Serge Gainsbourg, even Nelson Riddle gets a look in on this and it’s a long play trip-a-delic excursion perfect for fans of the funk, Easy Tempo sounds, and the types of groovy, happening tracks implied by that awesome cover.
Is that photo lifted from William Klein’s Who Are You, Polly Magoo? Or just inspired by it? Either way, just looking at this you get the idea. Check out the opening scene from the film below to see what I mean…that movie is HIGHLY recommended if you’re a fan of the music, fashion and general vibe of the era.
I do have, at the time of this writing, a sealed copy of this awesome record for sale. You can buy The Mood Mosiac: the Hashish Party at my Discogs shop, and don’t forget that every purchase goes directly to support the website.
