I Buy Record Collections!

I buy record collectionsI am very interested in people who want to sell their record collections. I am looking for large and small quantities of odd, unusual, and just plain awesome records in good condition.

I have purchased collections in the past that consist of soundtracks, goth and industrial, 80s new wave, spoken word, punk and post-punk, psychedelia, and that strange creature from the 80s and 90s and beyond known as Christian Indie music, CCM, etc.

I also am interested in purchasing “stag” and “adults-only” vinyl records as I’m assembling a large collection of them for an art show I plan on for Fall 2014. This could include anything on Laff Records or any of the other low-to-no-budget record labels pressing those titles and the ones that used to be for sale under the counter at truck stops and other places.

There are also a large number of genres I have no interest in–I am not purchasing Broadway shows, musicals, or the soundtracks to musical films. I’m not interested in Jazz collections, Classic Rock, etc.

But if you have weird records, goth/industrial/electronic music, soundtracks, and all the above mentioned at the top of this article, do get in touch with me via orders@turntabling.net.

What’s Happening At Turntabling

Toledo Ohio Record StoresThere have been some interesting developments and changes at Turntabling, which have resulted in the record and CD sales portion of this site becoming a fundraiser for my art space, StudioLab.

That means that any time you purchase a record or CD from Turntabling via our Discogs.com store, you are directly supporting the arts.

Our pricing won’t change, but do know that the entire inventory is being sold as a fundraiser for the art space so I and my art partners can continue to make dark, unusual, and yes, vinyl-related art there are share it with you here and at the StudioLab official site.

Thanks as always for your continued support and look for many more updates to the Turntabling inventory over the coming days.

Buying Record Collections in 2014: Sell Us Your Vinyl

WE BUY RECORD COLLECTIONSTurntabling is purchasing record collections in 2014. We are looking to purchase entire collections and smaller lots of vinyl in a variety of genres, but especially  electronic music, goth, industrial, new wave, dub and reggae, lounge, soundtracks, and weird records of all kinds.

Turntabling is happy to consider collections of any size but we are definitely not purchasing Broadway, show tunes, jazz, country music, and especially NO CLASSIC ROCK, please.

If you have vinyl records to sell, please get in touch by emailing us: orders@turntabling.net.

When contacting us about selling a record collection, the more information you can provide the better including the number of records, their condition, what genres are represented, and any other helpful info.

We are happy to consider collections located outside Chicago–we don’t mind traveling for the right vinyl. Thank you very much for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you!

I Buy Record Collections: Chicago Industrial Music, 90s Electronica, Italian Soundtracks, Lounge, Bizarre LPs and Oddities

Turntabling has many purposes. One of them is to scour the earth to find and offer you the most interesting and hard-to-find titles in selected genres including soundtracks, goth, industrial, post-punk, and many other genres. Another is to archive the strangest and most unusual vinyl on the planet–I have a special love for weird, unusual, and WTF vinyl records.

To do both of these at once, I find myself in the position of having to buy record collections–a lot of people don’t want to part with SOME of their records, just ALL of them for whatever reason. And I am VERY happy to help. I gladly accept donations of record collections but am also willing to make an offer of a group of titles.

If you have a vinyl record collection to sell, do get in touch with me at jwallace242 at gmail and let me know the size of the collection, a list of titles or sample list of titles, their approximate condition and any other information I can use to get started.

I am actively looking for record collections that contain titles in the goth, industrial, post-punk, soundtrack, and spoken word genres. I am also interested in a limited number of unusual jazz albums by artists like Sun Ra. Also, Stockhausen, John Cage, and other innovators and pioneers are most welcome.

For every want list, there’s also a DO NOT WANT list. My own personal do not want list includes classic rock, classical, country, show tunes/Broadway musicals or the majority of Jazz records with exceptions made for Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and other innovators. Typical jazz LPs fall outside my curation and collection interests.

But if you have a collection of Skinny Puppy, Sisters Of Mercy, Thrill Kill Kult and other industrial vinyl you want to get rid of, Drop me a line. The same goes for Alien Sex Fiend, Gang of Four, or most other post-punk luminaries and unknowns. I am particularly interested in unknown and underrated bands in the New Wave, goth and industrial genres, etc. Some of the most amazing records are not necessarily by the big names in these genres, but rather the unknowns and under-rateds.
