I Buy Record Collections: Chicago Industrial Music, 90s Electronica, Italian Soundtracks, Lounge, Bizarre LPs and Oddities

Turntabling has many purposes. One of them is to scour the earth to find and offer you the most interesting and hard-to-find titles in selected genres including soundtracks, goth, industrial, post-punk, and many other genres. Another is to archive the strangest and most unusual vinyl on the planet–I have a special love for weird, unusual, and WTF vinyl records.

To do both of these at once, I find myself in the position of having to buy record collections–a lot of people don’t want to part with SOME of their records, just ALL of them for whatever reason. And I am VERY happy to help. I gladly accept donations of record collections but am also willing to make an offer of a group of titles.

If you have a vinyl record collection to sell, do get in touch with me at jwallace242 at gmail and let me know the size of the collection, a list of titles or sample list of titles, their approximate condition and any other information I can use to get started.

I am actively looking for record collections that contain titles in the goth, industrial, post-punk, soundtrack, and spoken word genres. I am also interested in a limited number of unusual jazz albums by artists like Sun Ra. Also, Stockhausen, John Cage, and other innovators and pioneers are most welcome.

For every want list, there’s also a DO NOT WANT list. My own personal do not want list includes classic rock, classical, country, show tunes/Broadway musicals or the majority of Jazz records with exceptions made for Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and other innovators. Typical jazz LPs fall outside my curation and collection interests.

But if you have a collection of Skinny Puppy, Sisters Of Mercy, Thrill Kill Kult and other industrial vinyl you want to get rid of, Drop me a line. The same goes for Alien Sex Fiend, Gang of Four, or most other post-punk luminaries and unknowns. I am particularly interested in unknown and underrated bands in the New Wave, goth and industrial genres, etc. Some of the most amazing records are not necessarily by the big names in these genres, but rather the unknowns and under-rateds.

In Search of Italian Library and Soundtrack Vinyl

Turntabling seeks vinyl at all times, but right now we are especially interested in purchasing large numbers of Italian library and soundtrack sounds–the bigger the collection, the better. We are also interested in individual titles, such as the vinyl edition of Barry 7’s Connectors pictured here (Volumes One AND Two).

If you have library music and soundtrack vinyl to sell, please get in touch as we’d be happy to discuss your collection. Turntabling is NOT interested in Broadway/Show Tunes, Classic Rock, Hip Hop made after 1992 or Country collections…thanks for your interest but we aren’t buying any of those genres.

If you have vinyl to sell, please feel free to send an e-mail with as much detail as possible to jwallace242(at)gmail.com.

Turntabling Wants To Buy Your Record Collection

I do buy record collections and you can contact me about selling your vinyl at jwallace@turntabling.net. What I am looking for: post-punk, soundtrack LPs, new wave, unusual records of any kind, spoken word, experimental, ambient, electronic, lounge, and especially horror and science fiction related vinyl. What I am NOT looking for and will NOT buy for any reason: Broadway and show tunes records, country, hip hop made before 1993, and especially classic rock albums. No. Don’t even bother with these titles, please!

Here are some of the vinyl records I am currently looking for specifically, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch about any of the records you’d like to get rid of!

Vinyl For Sale: Fitzcarraldo, Legendary Pink Dots, Maniac Cop Soundtrack Vinyl

The rare, cool, hard-to-find and unusual vinyl is starting to pile up again in the Turntabling Collection for sale on Discogs.com.

There’s some classic Italian soundtrack sounds on the fabulous Easy Tempo label, some really awesome Legendary Pink Dots LPs, the soundtrack to Fitzcarraldo featuring the always-amazing Popol Vuh, plus a very rare SEALED version of the Maniac Cop soundtrack.

These records are for sale to raise funds to continue the mission of Turntabling to buy and archive rare and unusual vinyl from around the globe. Turntabling is assembling a vinyl archive that I’m hoping will find a home in a public space that will serve as a vinyl museum of sorts.

That’s one reason why I am in search of vinyl collections to purchase, but anyone who wants to donate a collection or portions of their collection to the cause, please get in touch via e-mail: jwallace@turntabling.net.

Please keep in mind when selling or donating vinyl that the Turntabling Collection needs both items for the archive and titles to sell for fundraising purposes. But this endeavor is definitely a worthy cause and I’ll have more news about the archive, places where you can browse the sale portion of the collection and much more.

If you have vinyl records you want to sell or donate, please get in touch at the e-mail listed above, and thank you for your continued interest and support!
