The Latest Madness from Turntabling Records

Turntabling Records, our Chicago-based micro label, has been busy busy. Here’s a sample of the latest project, a little electronica studio band called CUDDLY ANTICHRIST. This video is a short sample of the work being done, soon to be unleashed (inflicted?) on the world in the usual places.

Cuddly Antichrist sounds like what The Orb would have become if Alex Patterson was a habitual shroom eater and Aleister Crowley devotee. Enjoy another feature from the chemical drive-in:

Turntabling Records Presents Electronic Penis Choppers

Turntabling Records, our Chicago-based microlabel, has released the first album by Electronic Penis Choppers (we can hear you snickering at the name already). Sex Music for H.P. Lovecraft is now available for Download and the group is already hard at work on a followup album.

Electronic Penis Choppers is working so hard, in fact, that it has whipped out (so to speak) a demo and music video for the newest track (which is NOT on the new album, we might add.)

The video for the demo, called Sex Bandsaw, features public domain video images from Eurohorror films and exploitation movies and while the band insists the track is a work in progress, it sounds pretty damn trippy regardless. Behold the video for Sex Bandsaw by Electronic Penis Choppers. Your stereo may never be the same. Electronic Penis Choppers will have a familiar ring to it for fans of Coil, Throbbing Gristle, The Orb and Apex Twin. The group doesn’t mind wearing its influences on their sleeves, that’s for certain.

Bands: Trade Vinyl for Ad Space

Turntabling is pleased to announce a new opportunity for bands pressing vinyl. We’re offering an exchange program that lets bands trade a small amount of merch for ad space on Turntabling, plus mentions in our Twitter and Facebook posts.

It’s a simple, straight trade–fifty dollars worth of band merch (albums and CDs) for a two-month 200 x 200 ad. You can run space for longer than two months where space is available (for an additional trade or a flat fee). Naturally, vinyl is preferred but CDs aren’t out of the question.

Obviously there’s one catch–if we’re not thrilled about the music, we can’t make the trade, but Turntabling has never been as much about genres as it is about a certain attitude, mood, or presentation.

We’re happy to accept similar offers from labels, so don’t hesitate to get in touch. Drop a line to orders (at) Turntabling (dot) net for more info.

Back from HorrorHound in Cincinnati

The HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati was a huge success–many thanks to all who stopped by the Turntabling.net booth, especially for the lucky few who scored copies of the limited edition promo disc 13 Unusual Tracks. How much longer will we be offering this CD? Hard to say, but we’ll keep you posted for another opportunity to score your own copy soon.

We came to Cincinnati with an armload of soundtracks, great albums and other tasty treats–we left for home on Sunday much lighter–great music lovers cleaned us out! We have many revisions to make on the site to the catalog as much of our stock was depleted this weekend. More is coming, rest assured–but there’s much updating to be done in the meantime. We recommend getting in touch before trying to place an order. Drop a line to jwallace 242 (at) gmail (dot) com.

Turntabling has a busy December lined up, there are details coming on Turntabling Records releases and other news that bring us into 2010 with a bang. Stay tuned.
