Heavy Duty Vinyl Record Album Case

carpeted-vinyl-album-case

This is slightly pricey, but hot damn! This vinyl album case holds a whopping 200 albums, has a carpeted exterior and lid, and I hear you can stack these two and three high and even use the case as a makeshift stool if you’re in cramped quarters in some dingy club. You’re naturally spinning the good stuff instead of being what Mr. Automatic calls a “Craptop DJ”. I want several. I would imagine these to be a bit weighty when filled to capacity, but the lid is removable for easier access to the vinyl…never a bad thing.

Of course, I’d fill mine with dub platters, bizarre Icelandic new waver bands, Isaac Hayes records, Italian bachelor pad soundtrack music and a Goblin album or two. Those club kids don’t know what to make of me.

Mr. Bungle: The Air Conditioned Nightmare (live)

Behold the live madness that is Mr. Bungle, shot at the Bizarre Fest. Mr. Bungle is a favorite round here so it’s only right that we should dig up a few tasty clips. Enjoy, and if you haven’t heard the album this is from–the Morricone-influenced California album–you are missing out on one of the most insane, brilliant and complex pieces of musical Americana to hit record stores in…probably ever.

Isaac Hayes Tough Guys Soundtrack & Trailer

Isaac Hayes scored this great, cheesy Italian action flick called Tough Guys. The soundtrack is classic Hayes, including the waka-waka guitars he made famous in Shaft. The vinyl for this is still available…you can find it second hand in used record shops, but it’s also available in limited quantities on Amazon. A better value might be to buy and download the MP3 double-album of Tough Guys AND Truck Turner, also scored by and starring Isaac Hayes.

Check out the trailer for this goof-fest, inexplicably named Three Tough Guys for simpleton American drive-in audiences. Too bad the theme song is all about TWO tough guys. Heh. Check out the trailer for this one…Isaac Hayes chewing up the astroturf with his sidekick…a bareknuckle-brawlin’ Catholic Priest!

Seeking Hot Deals on New Vinyl Albums

vinylalbum

My job as editor of CheapToday.com gives me the chance to do something really cool–I get to search high and low for bargains and hot deals on products that I’d actually (and often do) purchase. There’s an entertainment section on Cheap Today that is woefully under-served in the vinyl department. As in, there are NO DEALS on vinyl records there.

With so many new groups putting out music on vinyl, the thought occurs that there MUST be people out there selling records at discount prices. New vinyl doesn’t stay in the “brand new” bins forever, so where do they go when they go on sale?

I’d LOVE to plug deals on vinyl albums on Cheap Today, and while I don’t think I’ll ever find enough to create an entire section dedicated to LP deals, there’s already an entertainment section that such things would fit nicely into.

I’m currently in search of any vendors of new vinyl who sell over the internet, offer reliable customer service and order fufillment and have GOOD return policies who want to get in touch to let me know about any hot deals on vinyl records and related items. There are enough fans of the glorious album format to justify at least experimenting with putting up deals on vinyl. If you sell albums and offer deals on some or all titles, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. Drop me a line:
