Yes, we do carry the Dagored Records vinyl version of this awesome synth-heavy soundtrack written and performed by John Carpenter, but for those reading Turntabling who love CDs and can’t be bothered with vinyl (yes, they are out there believe it or not) this is the release of the year.

Escape From New York is full of lovely vintage synth, sound clips from the movie, and is just plain fun to listen to again and again. It’s one of our favorite soundtracks and Carpenter outdoes himself here. Escape From New York is far more listenable than the Halloween soundtrack, though we’re sure some will call us blasphemers for saying so. No matter–this disc is amazing.

Our most popular title! The Goblin Collection Volume One is a fantastic cross-section of Goblin soundtrack sounds, from Profondo Rosso to Dawn of the Dead and Buio Omega. If you’re a new Goblin fan this is a GREAT way to sample their diverse soundtrack sounds. Our favorites are the Dawn of the Dead tracks (naturally) and also the Buio Omega cuts. Contamination is also fun but we also can’t get enough of the cheesy 70s vibe of the Via Della Droga cuts.

Every time we show up at a horror movie convention or film festival with these on the table, they sell out. Now they’re available here–you don’t have to wait for the next HorrorHound  Weekend or Chicago Horror Society event to pick one up from us. It’s a Lucio Fulci-fest, including two tracks from his “compilation” movie Cat In The Brain at least one of which you may recognize from The Beyond.

This is a fun collection of tracks  from Piero Piccioni, Claudio Simonetti, Manuel De Sica and many other well known Italian soundtrack names. Morricone Aromatico

Now on sale at Turntabling–a double disc compilation of some of Ennio Morricone’s most enjoyable film sounds; Morricone Aromatico. This one is a themed collection, categorized somehow by…scents? Yes–coffee, vanilla, pine (one of the best tracks, we might add) This gimmick is cute, but ultimately meaningless–the tracks speak for themselves and there’s quite a lot here. With a whopping 41 cuts, how can you go wrong?

There are prime cuts from many phases of Morricone’s film career, but the standout tracks include Morricone’s samba sounds (Song 7, disc one, Samba in Tribunale) his work with Argento (Song 18, disc one, Four Flies on Grey Velvet), the moody sounds with vocalists, so much more…

This is a brand new, sealed double disc import CD from the UK and definitely worth the time for a beginner or mid-level Morricone collector. Obsessives and completists will want this if they’re into any and everything with Morricone’s name on it, but if you’ve been collecting for a while you probably have most of these cuts.
