Pennsylvania Music Expo Record Show Sunday June 8 2014

Pennsylvania Music Expo record show

A quick look at www.recordcollectors.org reveals the following info on the Pennsylvania Music Expo, hosted by the Keystone Record Collectors–the next one is Sunday June 8, 2014.

The show “…is held at the: Continental Inn, 2285 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602 on the second Sunday of every month except Mother’s Day and when Easter conflicts. When those events occur, the show is moved to the first Sunday. Show hours for the always FREE admission event are 9 am – 3 pm. Access prior is open to current, card carrying members only.”

That’s actually pretty amazing–a record show held every single month! Compare that to the ones found near Turntabling HQ in Chicago, where we get a variety of shows, but only once every few months or so for any single record collector’s show.

This looks pretty damn cool…but then again, I say that about EVERY record show, don’t I? No matter–anywhere you can buy vinyl is potentially a good trip. Could this be a Turntabling.net excursion? Stay tuned…

WTF Album Covers: Explaining Sex To Your Little Girl

WTF album covers explaining sexFor a start, any vinyl record that presumes to teach you something about sex already has a lot working against it…but throw a creepy/pervo Norman Rockwell vibe into the mix with the cover art and you have WTF gold. And look at that cup of coffee she’s got there…whatever she’s learning from that record, she’ll be up all night thinking about it.

I discovered this one at the similarly WTF-n-vintage-obsessed Vintage Everyday blog. Good stuff there…and a lot of it!

While Supplies Last: Death Waltz Record Store Day Edition of EMANUELLE PERCHE’ VIOLENZA ALLE DONNE

Death Waltz Records Violation of EmanuelleYes, the Turntabling shop has this sought-after Record Store Day one-off pressing of EMANUELLE PERCHE’ VIOLENZA ALLE DONNE by Nico Fidenco reissued by Death Waltz Records, which may or may not contain a Golden Ticket promo contest insert.

This is available on a first-come, first served basis while supplies last. When they’re gone, they’re GONE!!! Rare and groovy, this soundtrack is probably one of Nico Fidenco’s finest moments. Never mind whether the film was your cup of tea or not, the MUSIC…the music….
