You Read That Correctly: Vinyl Records For Sale Here

vinyl records for saleTurntabling is on the verge of getting much more active (and cool) with the addition of vinyl LPs for sale and related sundries. We introduced books and a random CD or two back a few months ago to test the response and the results were quite pleasing.

The majority of the music for sale here will be vinyl LPs, but some CDs will also make an appearance. Expect an interesting collection of sounds including Italian horror soundtracks, lounge and bossa nova, new wave/electronic, experimental, any quirky or offbeat stuff we can dig up.

If you have a band with vinyl releases, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your wholesale prices and a web addy where we can listen to digita samples. Turntabling’s areas of interest are diverse, but we need to hear it before we agree to stock it.

Stay tuned, the first LP titles go up for sale this week before the Labor Day weekend.

Moldover Album Cover is Also a Theremin

I found this amazing little oddity referenced at The Walrus. It’s a CD cover for an album by Moldover which is–I am certain–the first of its kind. The artwork is actually a circuit board that is a working theremin. No cheesy toy, this–there is an explanation video showing the theremin/CD art at work and it sounds FANTASTIC. I am stunned by how great this is–a great marketing gimmick that is also a no BS musical instrument. Both retro and future at the same time, this wins hands down as the coolest thing I’ve seen all year in terms of indie music innovation.

Scary Country and Western LP Covers

I am no fan of Country & Western, but I DO love those hilariously dated album covers. Blood On The Saddle is a fearsomely fun blog if you like old school C&W. Me, I just read it for the pictures…

The reason you should click through to this is because you can see a MUCH LARGER version of this hilarious collage of vinyl record covers. I mean, you REALLY should see Eddie Bond’s sideburns bigger than life and twice as scary…you really should.

WTFness From Waterloo-Creepiest Bad Album Art Ever?

wtf8
I’m not sure what to say here. The imagery from Waterloo makes me think of both Queen (no idea why) and Cannibal Holocaust. Maybe it’s because the guy has the entire band in his mouth? This album artwork begs so many double entendres it’s not even funny to think about.

The worst part about this is that deep-down Hubble telescope view of this guy’s nose. Ugh. And WTF is that inside this poor wretch’s mouth, anyway? A heart-shaped lace doily? Whatever the artist was smoking on this one, I would like a jumbo-sized pile of, please.
