New Vinyl Records: Morricone Soundtracks Galore

Morricone HumanoidTurntabling has some new stock in, lots of Ennio Morricone goodness being added to the inventory this holiday weekend. But we are also excited to announce that we’re going to be adding more used vinyl to the inventory-a lot of rare and excellent titles from Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Johnny Thunders, Robyn Hitchcock, Roxy Music, Romeo Void, a LOT of pre-owned vinyl coming your way soon.

When it comes to used vinyl, Turntabling takes a conservative approach. There is visual grading and that usually includes a spin on our turntable to make sure there are no undetected warps or other general issues. Our equipment isn’t YOUR equipment, so performance may vary depending on the type of needle you’re using, whether your tone arm is properly calibrated, age and nature of your turntable, etc. But we try to be as transparent as possible with our descriptions.

If there’s a noticeable issue with a vinyl record, it should be described in the listing, but Turntabling also believes in satisfaction, so if you encounter problems with an unsealed, used vinyl record you’ve purchased, do get in touch.

We’ll be updating the site when the new titles are live! You can shop our current inventory in the meantime, with hundreds of new, sealed vinyl waiting for you.

Awesome Italian Soundtrack Vinyl: Morricone, Riz Ortolani, Goblin, Bruno Nicolai

Eyeball italian horror soundtrack vinyl

It really doesn’t get any more awesome, album cover-wise, than the Bruno Nicolai soundtrack for Eyeball. Turntabling has copies of this one for sale while supplies last, but that’s not all from Italy. Have you heard the Torso soundtrack by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis? Another great album cover, too.

Ennio Morricone titles have been coming out fast and furious lately, and the album artwork for those is just as excellent as the sounds themselves. Some people are buying these reissues just for the covers, and who can blame them? Morricone’s soundtrack for The Humanoid, for example:

And let’s not forget what Goblin brings to the table-those synth textures blended with a prog mentality equals some seriously unique soundtrack vinyl sounds. The Buio Omega soundtrack is an all-time favorite around here:

All these and MUCH MORE are available for sale, while supplies last, in the Turntabling shop.

La Ragazza Con La Pistola Soundtrack and Trailer

Monic Vittia La Ragazza Con PistolaIf the name Monica Vitti doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about La Ragazza con la Pistola, then perhaps you need a bit more nudging from the trailer (below) which features a VERY groovy soundtrack indeed. Composer Peppino Di Luca brings a whole truckload of groovy to this film and some of us could watch Monica Vitti do nothing more than read from the Italian version of the Yellow Pages (the Giallo Pages, perhaps?) for three hours…so this should be a no brainer. You can buy the soundtrack for La Ragazza con la Pistola (The Girl With The Gun) from Turntabling now while supplies last.

Clear Green Vinyl Edition of The New York Ripper Soundtrack: Fulci Strikes Again!

Fulci New York Ripper Soundtrack Clear Green vinyl
This insanity is now available in the Turntabling shop. The Francesco de Masi soundtrack for Lucio Fulci’s The New York Ripper is a highlight of this film, as is the presence of a maniac who taunts the police while quacking like a duck.

In fact, the killer in the New York Ripper sounds suspiciously like DEVO mascot Booji Boy, and it is VERY FUNNY INDEED to watch this movie pretending that is actually the case. However, this insane Fulci horror film is quite hard to watch because of some really unpleasant violence toward women-much stronger and nastier than many other Italian slasher movies of its kind. There are some for whom this is not considered a liability, but those of us who prefer the soundtrack over the film have only to watch the trailer below to remember why that is.

If you’re wondering why that is, I’ll just say that there is one broken-bottle-crotch-stabbing scene too many in this film, which is to say that there is one to be seen. Ugh. If it weren’t for the ferocity of the woman-hating in this particular film, it would be a a laff-riot of a movie. Still, Francesco de Masi does not disappoint in the soundtrack department and you can purchase the limited edition clear green vinyl edition of the soundtrack from Turntabling.
