Morricone HumanoidTurntabling has some new stock in, lots of Ennio Morricone goodness being added to the inventory this holiday weekend. But we are also excited to announce that we’re going to be adding more used vinyl to the inventory-a lot of rare and excellent titles from Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Johnny Thunders, Robyn Hitchcock, Roxy Music, Romeo Void, a LOT of pre-owned vinyl coming your way soon.

When it comes to used vinyl, Turntabling takes a conservative approach. There is visual grading and that usually includes a spin on our turntable to make sure there are no undetected warps or other general issues. Our equipment isn’t YOUR equipment, so performance may vary depending on the type of needle you’re using, whether your tone arm is properly calibrated, age and nature of your turntable, etc. But we try to be as transparent as possible with our descriptions.

If there’s a noticeable issue with a vinyl record, it should be described in the listing, but Turntabling also believes in satisfaction, so if you encounter problems with an unsealed, used vinyl record you’ve purchased, do get in touch.

Eyeball italian horror soundtrack vinyl

It really doesn’t get any more awesome, album cover-wise, than the Bruno Nicolai soundtrack for Eyeball. Turntabling has copies of this one for sale while supplies last, but that’s not all from Italy. Have you heard the Torso soundtrack by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis? Another great album cover, too.

Ennio Morricone titles have been coming out fast and furious lately, and the album artwork for those is just as excellent as the sounds themselves. Some people are buying these reissues just for the covers, and who can blame them? Morricone’s soundtrack for The Humanoid, for example:

And let’s not forget what Goblin brings to the table-those synth textures blended with a prog mentality equals some seriously unique soundtrack vinyl sounds. The Buio Omega soundtrack is an all-time favorite around here:

Fabio Frizzi Tours America The Beyond Soundtrack

According to the maestro’s Facebook page, there are going to be several dates across America where you can experience Fabio Frizzi’s Composer’s Cut of The Beyond. The All Tomorrow’s Parties website has some excellent in-depth discussion of Frizzi, the tour and much more. It’s an exciting bit of news for any fan of Italian genre films and soundtracks. Turntabling definitely plans to be at the Chicago show…the tour is running stateside from September to October 2016.

And it’s true, we definitely have more than a couple of Frizzi titles for sale in the Turntabling Discogs shop. Are you into the sounds of Manhattan Baby? A Cat In The Brain? Zombi? We have all that and more!

Deep Red (Profondo Rosso) Trailer

Why are some of us vinyl collectors so hung up on giallo soundtracks, Italian horror, and Italian cinema in general? The Ennio Morricone connection aside, there is some kind of weird perfect storm that happens when you get the music, the trailes, and the movies together. A look at the Deep Red trailer is proof of that. Deep Red, aka Profondo Rosso, was directed by Dario Argento at the height of his talent and cinematic clout. Starring David Hemmings and Dario Nicolodi, this is a GREAT entry into the world of giallo. If you haven’t seen it, the trailer might just push you over the edge.

Goblin’s score for this goes all over the place, from edgy prog to moody atmospheres, and it’s fairly unique among their output if you’re thinking of soundtracks like Dawn Of The Dead and Tenebre. This was a project Goblin stepped into after Giorgio Gaslini and Argento parted ways during the film. Gaslini gets a credit on the soundtrack, but Goblin is front and center.
