Zombie Outbreak Aftermath

return of the living deadIf you weren’t able to make it out to Zombie Outbreak at the Portage in Chicago, you missed a great night out. Thanks to the army of people who stopped by the Turntabling setup and introduced themselves. We quickly ran out of the limited-edition promo disc, but we’re pressing another run of them for our next show in Cincinnati next weekend, so stay tuned.

If you couldn’t make it out last night you missed Pathogen, the zombie movie made by a 12-year old girl (plus a documentary on her called Zombie Girl). Then there was Colin, the made-for$70 zombie movie that made a  splash a few months back. The highlight of the evening was the 35MM screening of Return of the Living Dead, which is an all-time favorite here at Turntabling. It’s a lot of fun and I’m grateful it was the last show of the night since I actually got to SEE it after tearing down the booth.

Next up it’s HorrorHound in Cincinnati, we’ll have details on that one shortly. We’ll be there from Friday to Sunday and look forward to meeting more Turntabling lovers there…

Turntabling at the Zombie Outbreak Film Festival November 14

zombie outbreak film festival portage theater

Come visit the Turntabling booth at the Zombie Outbreak film festival at Chicago’s Portage Theater, Saturday November 14th starting at 4PM. The Turntabling booth features some killer vinyl–new and used, plus a nice variety of CDs just in that aren’t even added to the catalog yet. Are you looking for the Bride of Frankenstein soundtrack? The Best of John Carpenter? How about a soundtrack CD for Patrick McGoohan’s The Prisoner? It will be there on the Turntabling table.

Zombie Outbreak is yet another excellent offering by the Chicago Horror Society, and they ALWAYS show a good time–you can’t lose. Zombies galore, some excellent special features and yes, Turntabling merch. Join us and be sure to drop by and see if there are any cool limited-edition Turntabling freebie discs. Here’s a hint–we’ve given away a freebie disc for the last two shows we’ve been a part of, so if past performance is any indication…

WildClaw Theatre’s The Revenants Trailer

revenants-zombie-play-wildclaw-theatre

Why am I posting a clip for WildClaw Theatre’s zombie play, The Revenants? Two reasons–I was behind the editing desk for this AND composed the music for the trailer. I’ve done a bit of soundtrack work in the past and it was fun to get back into the game once more. I’ve yet to see the play—I’m seeing it on Sunday–but it was Critic’s Choice in the Chicago Reader, a real stamp of approval for this town.

The trailer was a lot of fun to work on, and you really should check out the show while there is still time. The play is currently scheduled to end on May 24th, thought there is talk of an extension. It plays in Chicago at the Angel Island Theatre.
