New Vinyl Records: Morricone Soundtracks Galore

Morricone HumanoidTurntabling has some new stock in, lots of Ennio Morricone goodness being added to the inventory this holiday weekend. But we are also excited to announce that we’re going to be adding more used vinyl to the inventory-a lot of rare and excellent titles from Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Johnny Thunders, Robyn Hitchcock, Roxy Music, Romeo Void, a LOT of pre-owned vinyl coming your way soon.

When it comes to used vinyl, Turntabling takes a conservative approach. There is visual grading and that usually includes a spin on our turntable to make sure there are no undetected warps or other general issues. Our equipment isn’t YOUR equipment, so performance may vary depending on the type of needle you’re using, whether your tone arm is properly calibrated, age and nature of your turntable, etc. But we try to be as transparent as possible with our descriptions.

If there’s a noticeable issue with a vinyl record, it should be described in the listing, but Turntabling also believes in satisfaction, so if you encounter problems with an unsealed, used vinyl record you’ve purchased, do get in touch.

We’ll be updating the site when the new titles are live! You can shop our current inventory in the meantime, with hundreds of new, sealed vinyl waiting for you.

Turntabling: We Buy AND Sell Vinyl

Turntabling recordsWhat you see here is the setup for the Turntabling-curated Sexy and Scary Vinyl art show on the 5th floor of the Bridgeport Art Center (Friday June 20 2014 starting at 6PM). There are a LOT of vinyl records on display for this one-night-only art show, plus film trailers, music and more.

One question that has come up about the show and about Turntabling in general is whether we sell records (yes we do!) and where you can buy those records.

Turntabling.net has a record and CD shop on Discogs.com and our inventory grows weekly–sometimes daily, depending on the finds we make in a never-ending search for the hard to find, the rare, the weird, the unusual, and just plain awesome vinyl records.

While we aren’t selling records at the art show on Friday (the show is all about the images, the album covers and the culture behind these albums and the films associated with many of them) we are happy to discuss the sale of these records and many others like them. Please feel free to drop a line with wish lists and requests for more information to:

orders@turntabling.net

We are actively looking for other venues to bring the Sexy and Scary Vinyl art show to–if you want this display in your record store, special event, art space or other venue, do get in touch at the same address.

Turntabling is also branching out to Etsy once more–we have a small, but soon-to-be-growing inventory there that you can explore at https://www.etsy.com/shop/Turntabling.

And finally, Turntabling buys record collections–if you have one to sell, get in touch by email:

New Orleans Record Raid June 21st 2014 in Bywater

New Orleans Record Raid

Saturday June 21st from 9-5, the New Orleans Record Raid, for one day only. Billed as the largest record show in all of Louisiana, this sounds like a lot of fun, but be warned–the nearest ATM is a block and a half away, so come stocked with cash or you might just miss that awesome vinyl find…

This record show is put on by a non-profit, “to benefit recorded music culture in New Orleans, Louisiana and the Gulf South Region” according to the official site, which also adds, “For the most part, our shows are open-ended: we welcome all formats of recorded media from all vintages and musical styles, and try to keep the shows accessible for collectors and sellers. We have had over 50 vendors from all over the region, and it’s currently the only event of its kind in Louisiana.”

Now For Sale From Turntabling

Vinyl the living dead at manchester morgue soundtrack album

There is a LOT of vinyl goodness on sale at the Turntabling Discogs shop.

We’ve made some great finds recently and there are plenty of rare and hard to find LPs there including the Death Waltz edition of the Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue soundtrack, which is fantastic all on its own, but comes beautifully packaged from Death Waltz complete with a poster and that excellent cover art.

Five dolls for an August Moon sountrack AMS Cinevox

We were also lucky enough to get our hands on a vinyl copy of the Five Dolls For An August Moon sountrack–Piero Umilliani scoring for Mario Bava? That is a combination that just cannot go wrong. This one is a must-have for any fan of Bava, or the soundtrack sounds from that era of Italian cinema. Fabulous.

And then thEraserhead Sacred Bones Double LP reissueere’s the Eraserhead soundtrack, a double LP reissue that is increasingly hard to find. Where to start? David Lynch creates an experience like no other both in the film AND on the soundtrack record, which really does stand all on its own with or without the film. How on earth could a soundtrack fan or a Lynch afficianado be without this? The version we’re selling is the amazing reissue on Sacred Bones which has a TON of extras. Buy this before I change my mind about selling it!Day of the Dead Soundtrack Romero

The George Romero film Day Of The Dead now has a couple of editions out when it comes to soundtrack albums, and we’ve got both in the shop–this one and the Waxworks edition (while supplies last). This is a sealed edition of the original issue John Harrison soundtrack and features that 80s artwork we all know and love. The dead walk!

These soundtrack albums are available via the Turntabling Discogs shop and are for sale while supplies last only. First come, first served!
